I've just caught a glimpse on the French-dubbed version of the Vision of Escaflowne series, on the Manga channel, in one of their quick-shot ads featuring what's going to be broadcast in August (yes, so far I had been gifted with the ability to only watch the subbed version, and religiously avoid everything else). It included two scenes with

Well, they seemingly shot for the I-am-a-total-psychopath voice, but it's nothing close to the edge of madness that tends to point in D's voice most of the time... and the result sounds just, well, lame. Completely fake and pitiful, so to say.

if i watch anime i have always preferred subs to dubs.. dubbing in english is just as pitiful... but the same goes for movies, tv shows, etc.

for great comedy i like to watch old kung fu movies dubbed in english.... it gets really funny sometimes :)
