Aaah, the sheer satisfaction of sniping the previous bidder in an Ebay auction like 2 seconds before said auction ends... I know, I'm mean and I shouldn't feel satisfied, but... how do you deal with the region stuff? i've always wondered about that.. or do you just bid on your own region's dvd's..

Well, the DVD player we have in the living-room can play Region 1 and 2 (at least; I haven't tried with DVDs from other regions, as I don't buy in China or Australia or whatever). I can also play them on my comp, normally my DVD player reads R2 only, but I tweaked its firmware so that it plays all regions now :p

cool :) i only have R1 stuff in my house so i never had to think about this stuff for myself before. i think all this regions stuff is silly anyway.

I think so too. I've never even understood how it worked exactly... Guess I'm lucky that my BF picked a good DVD player last year, when we the old one died on us. If you have one in your comp though, normally it should be able to read all regions, only that it's limited to 5 changes or so, so once you decide on the 5th time what region you want to read, you're stuck with that. But as I did, updating the firmware on it cracks this stupid protection, haha.
