Hey my friend! Sorry for the late answer, I'm just back from a convention and still recovering :)

There are a lot of these songs available - I'd personally recommend finding songs from the French band Malicorne - and I can probably send you some.

There are several French song anthologies with either traditional or sailing songs that can be found on Spotify but I'm not sure whether they're actually available outside of France.

We also have a few many drinking or dirty songs that sound quite traditional. I'll see if I can come up with a list when I'm properly awake again.

I'm sure jallora would have plenty of suggestions.

Well I poked Jallora. Let's see if she remembers me. Just with I could remember everyones names from back then. Been so long.

A couple of dirty songs would be good. They'd be totally inappropriate and noone would know. :D I'll hunt Malicorne down though as a start. Thanks

Malicorne did some more modern stuff, so be careful, but the older albums should be okay. Quintessence is a good start:

The previous one (especially Chanteurs de Sornettes, Couché Tard Levé Matin and La Blanche Biche) is good too:

Almanach is also one of their best:

As for dirty songs... easy to find (mp3 and lyrics) ;)

Ouch. Good stuff but maybe a little too vocally complicated. Then I just have to poke them to show up a translation so I can check it's not too unthematic and then learn it. Good job I have a few months. :)

Followed the last link and picked L'artilleur de Metz. No idea what they're singing but definitelya little easier to sing i reckon and a chorus i can teach people to sing would be hilarious if they don't know what it means and it's rude.
