A Dilemma!

My computer has stopped making sounds. It was fine when I left my house this morning and now nothing at all. Silent as a mime. Anyone know anything that might cause this? Did this mornings playing of Between the Bars finally break the computer's spirit? It is not any of the following

You could look in the Device Manager for confilcts. Also, check if when you turn software and hardware volume knobs up all the way, it has any effect on quiet static coming out the speakers. if not, then it's likely a hardware issue. negative test results I would think to be nonconclusive. Its also possible that you are having auditory hallucinations.
