I love this design, especially the colour and texture.

Vis a vis closure - you could steal the m-edge closure design, which is basically a large loop of elastic that holds both sides together.

This is the one I got gifted from my Father in Law, including the pink cover. As I hate pink and didn't like the texture, I removed the pink cotton cover and recovered with denim from an old pair of jeans. I used a section still containing a back pocket for the front so I could have somewhere to put my reading glasses.

Interesting thought about the elastic loop, though I'm not sure it would work for mine, because of the wobbliness of the spine.

I think I need to make yet another attempt to improve the straps, because they keep slipping off. (sigh)

Something to stiffen the spine and straps perhaps starch or PVA glue? I had to tighten the top straps on my recovered ereader as the reader kept slipping out.
