Eggs are close enough to water that you can assume that their weight = their volume. It's one of the questions we have in our maths test. So 60g eggs are 60 cubic centimetres which is 60 mls.

Problem is, I don't know the weight of my eggs because I always take them out of the carton and put them in the egg holder in the door of the fridge. So I don't know if they're 60g eggs or 50g eggs or whatever.

But it's a useful tip nonetheless. 8-)

Glass standing in bowl.

Glass completely full of water.

Carefully slide egg into glass. The water displaced into the bowl is easily measured, and is the volume of the egg, less an insignificant amount for the shell and the airsac.
