Urk! What are some fans thinking? Snape is Hermione's TEACHER! We get enough real-life teacher-student things in the papers without putting it into fan fiction. And before someone says, "Oh, but he's not her teacher by the end," I remember the fuss about Cheryl Kernot and a former student who wasn't much younger than her. :-(

If this gets me into your bad books, Kathryn, I'm sorry. I wrote a lot of fan fiction, many years ago, but I don't recall ever taking characters way out of the - er, character - zone.

Besides - JKR established that there was only one woman Snape ever loved and she was his own age! :-)

I just hope this doesn't get me into your bad books. I want to reassure you that I'm not some sort of pervert and I don't go for Teacher/Student relationships; the SSHG stories I like she's not his student any more; often enough she's a collegue.

Yes, I am perfecly well aware that SS/HG isn't canonical. And I do like me a Snape/Lily story too!
