Thanks to Patricia's encouragement, Evening Dan managed to get the bed made early again tonight! I'm really proud of him ( Read more... )

we might go to the People's Republik, a communist-themed bar in Cambridge

I think that's just about the coolest thing ever. I hope they think it's awesome.

The LTK menu looks awesome. It sounds like a really good place to eat.

They had a lot of fun at the bar and thought it was amusing. I got some of the posters translated, too. One slogan was "Have you volunteered for the (Red) Army?"

It was a fantastic place to eat!

mmmm

Ooooh I need to get to working out again - I'm feeling vaguely guilty for my slovenly bed lolling ways and I know I ought to get back on the gym thing! Glad Evening Dan is on the ball!

Evening Dan has been on top of his game! I also went for a ride today. I'm trying to make sure to do something every day, although I kind of missed it Friday.

I still don't understand the point of making a bed, kudos to evening dan for showing initiative.

whoo hoo for excersauce.

and thed restaurant looks lovely even I with a shellfish allergy and general dislike for seafood can find things to eat there.

not so sure about the bar but you can always float it as an idea and then not go if they are offended.

I meant making the bed as putting the sheets back on and the pillowcases and stuff, since I'd done laundry. I wouldn't make my bed as in tidy and straighten it just before bed.

The restaurant was very tasty and they had fun at the bar. :D

ah yes. that i understand. growing up the rule was that the bed was made as long as none of the bedding was on the floor :D. that is how my parents make their bed too.

Yay for Evening Dan! Hope he gets to resurface often and regularly. And yay for Exercise Dan, too!

I'm drooling over the menu from LTK. Could you eat some for me, too? I'd have a taste of everythig, please. *g*

Oh, and regarding the bar - there's a lot of lamenting the loss of CCCP among younger Russians, lots of dreaming about "the good old days" by people who either were too young to remember how bad it was or who, for some reason, are worse off now. I think dear old Putin is catering to that crowd, so they might love it, get overly nationalistic, loathe it, laugh of it - who knows? It'll be interesting to hear what they thought.

They seemed to have fun at the bar. I got translations on the posters and some friends of mine met us there and some other friends were there unexpectedly. I drank too much (surprise!) but had fun. They mostly seemed amused and I guess there are American themed restaurants in Russia now, like TGIFridays, with a bunch of American kitsch on the walls.

And the restaurant? Was awesome! Very tasty food. mmmmm You'd have loved it!
