perhaps a stupid thing to ask, but is his habitat warm enough? I had issues with my snake's (when I had one) habitat not staying the right temp, he didn't eat when it was too cold for him.... but it has been many years and I am guessing you have tried that thus the asking LJ. good luck.

Only things I would know of would be temp or if he is getting ready to shed. Other than that I can't help. Mom hates snakes so we were never allowed to have one.

I don't know anything about snakes, but I wasn't sure if you guys knew about For Pet's Sake. They're an exotic animal vet. I've taken my rabbit there and they have always been very helpful. I know it's kind of a drive for you, but they might be able give you a phone consultation or help you figure out if you should bring him in.

Thanks for the reference. I took him there yesterday and the doctor said he's fine, he was larger than normal for his age and his growth probably hit a plateau, so he might not need to eat twice weekly. also, he may be slowing down metabolism for the winter.
