As I said on the phone yesterday, we will be flexible with the standard sized room with double beds or the ADA sized room with double beds. Mel will have the closest bed to the restroom. All of our stuff WILL be kept on our side of the room. When we are in the room we will help you guys as much as possible. You know these things. ;) That being said. I could not agree with you more Chris; I KNOW sleeping on roll-in beds would be made of bad idea. No deal indeed. I've slept on one before, they are more or less like sleeping on a glorified hammock with sheets and a pillow, as much as that hotel is charging us to sleep there per night, roll-ins would not be the way to go. I am confident whatever happens will work out in the end. Looking forward to it!
Thank you for the offer, but we'll be keeping the roomies and our 2-bed ressie, handicapped or not. Neither party can afford it otherwise, and plus it's just better to have other people in the room.
I don't know if this would work or not, but you might want to post on some of the dcon communities and see if anyone has reserved an ADA room who doesn't actually need one, or if anyone has a double that might take a king now. It may be that ADA rooms are on the lower floors so people reserve them to guarantee lower floors or situations have changed and people haven't thought to update their reservations. Maybe you could orchestrate a room swap or something?
I dunno, the odds of the 15 people who have ADA double rooms at the Marriott being on the LJ community is probably pretty small, but maybe?
