I was thinking about the guy from Pensacola all night; him and Faith and what happened to him. It occupied my thoughts when I woke up this morning as well. At some point I had a vivid image of them talking in a coffee bar in Trillium, the fictional home of Slayer Central in Pennsylvania. This is really good.

I can see why you want to write more of him, he's fleshed out wonderfully, even in this fairly short piece. (Well, comparatively short. *g*) Two lives - their stories, their choices, what they've gained, what they've lost, all of it contained in sparse, but lyrical prose.

Also I must confess that it wasn't until this installment that I twigged what the album was and now I shall have to go dig out my Joan Osborne CD - I think it might have been the very first CD I ever bought. And then I shall listen to all the songs and consider the lyrics and probably go back & re-read these stories again. <3

I think I'm going to attempt a dvd extra-type commentary on these stories at their conclusion; try to explain, and thereby, understand how they came to be the way they are.

There are some things I'd better hold back for now, not least because they will act as spoilers for me.

I'm not at all sure how some will end up, but I'm working on the next one now. I did a rough first draft on the bus between Blairgowrie and Perth this morning. Some of the ideas have come from single lyrics; some from the overall feel the song has on me.

We'll see.

Recently I've discovered a version of Relish with a completely track listing; maybe a north america-only version. It would be interesting to listen to that a few times to see if there is any difference in the effect of the songs.
