Willow was very excited to have her friend Tara here because it was Tara and because she got her more than even Buffy did. Willow assumed it was the magical background and the same interests in books and other geekery things. What she felt bad about, even though it hadn't happened to her yet was that she didn't feel for Tara what Tara felt for her

The elf was surprised when he arrived home and Willow was not there but assumed that she was still at school speaking with students or working. He set about making tea and setting up new starter for the bread he would bake later. Legolas was still in the kitchen when he sensed Willow was near, then heard the door open. He knew she was agitated and as she closed the door, he walked into the front area to see why she was distressed.
"Not very long, no," Legolas responded. "Willow, what is wrong?"

Willow was aware that she was babbling. "Um, she's from my future. Well possible future I guess or maybe alternate future. Sorry. Babbling. Anyway, um in her time we're kinda together together." She rushed on to say. "Not in my time. I mean we're just friends. Just getting to be friends really."

"Thanks. Tea sounds great." She settled on the ground and waited for Legolas to return. As she did, Willow thought of the conversation with Tara and the memories that she had of her friend from Sunnydale. They were kind of hazy after two years but she did remember Tara had risked her life to tell her her suspicions about the Gentleman. And she'd saved her life by using her stronger magic to push the vending machine against the door.
