well, if they are in a setting that is unfriendly to the realm they could need to band together as a simple defense against everyone else. heck for an intro to exalted pick up you could even have them all exalt at the same time and place. Or, if you go with the cannon circle you could just gloss over the meeting up portion "so you guys have been a circle for a few weeks when..."

If you have the old 1st edition caste books the cannon character's stats are in those, and it would not take much to update them. Or just make them up as scratch as starting characters.

One way to make it more engaging is to put some moral ambiguity in there. Show that the people of the Wyld Hunt really think that they're doing the right thing and that they want to protect people from the "demons."

Actually, it is. I'm going to be up at Dragon's Lair at 11 am on the 20th for Free RPG Day. There are going to be some other games, too (D&D 4.0, some others I haven't heard of). You're welcome to come and learn Exalted (or play the other games) or send the word out to other gamers.
Maybe I can even return those tapes I borrowed about a thousand years ago...

True that. Even people who aren't Immaculates probably have some vague idea about the Immaculate Philosophy. Even though I'm not Christian, if a glowing guy shows up claiming to be the Antichrist, commits a few miracles, and then claims he's actually a misunderstood good guy and just wants to help? I'm gonna be pretty bloody WARY.

Do people generally think this of Lunars and Sidereals too? That would be handy for me, the person who doesn't know much about Exalted, to know.

Lunars, yes. They eat virgins and rape babies or something. Sidereals...what are they? What were we just talking about? I seem to have forgotten...
