Brianna kind of represents an epic failure by Julian in a number of ways. He wants to save her along with EVERYONE ELSE and unfortunately chose to do it in the same way that all the adults treat him. So that backfired spectacularly and now Brianna is just "I AM GOING BACK TO MY OWN WORLD AND WILL PROBABLY STARVE AND DIE TO PROVE A POINT". Which! Kind of sucks a lot! And Julian feels that guilt keenly because he could have saved her. He wants to save her! And because he messed up spectacularly, because he followed the example the adults set him without even thinking about it out of sheer desperation, she and Jay both will die. And it is all his fault. It's something he's acutely aware of and managing very badly. If she wants to die, fine! He doesn't care! Do what you want, he stopped caring about you! Except for how he really does care and no matter how hard he tries to convince himself otherwise he knows that he's lying to himself. So basically talking to Brianna gives him immense feelings of guilt and

Brianna is really hurt by what Julian did, or... didn't do, in the case of telling her what she thinks are important details that she needed to know. And the fact that he's now being like "WHATEVER, I DON'T CARE" is making it worse because she feels like he doesn't understand why she's mad at him and he's treating her like a little kid whose opinions and feelings don't matter. She's only twelve but she has all these decisions to make that will impact so many other people, and she is super stressed about it and feels like Julian just doesn't give a shit! And the other babymutants keep telling her "Julian cares, he's just weird about showing it" but as far as she's concerned, he lied to her and used her like she was just a means to an end and basically treated her kind of like Caine did, whoops. ): And because she's Brianna, her hurt feelings get expressed through her being really sulky and pissed off whenever they talk, which just makes things worse. But she will seriously be like this FOREVER unless something happens to change the way

Hope and Machika, if they ever met, would have an interesting relationship wherein Machika realises that Hope is waaaaay too introverted and inward looking for his (or really, anyone's) own good and decide to draw him out by being herself. Hope finds himself drawn to Machika's open honesty and tendency to be nosy despite his best efforts and is encouraged to be more open with people, especially pretty, energetic girls who smile a lot and aren't lying when they smile.

But if I were inclined to do this properly I would say that Elliot is about to reveal to Leo pretty much why he has started referring to him as his friend rather than his servant ... which will actually snap their relationship back to what it used to be when Leo is just "pffft whatever, that doesn't even mean anything, I'm your servant first". And then they snap back to Elliot and Leo against the world the end

All right, so with Ronan and Vanya, Ronan ... is pretty much as he says. He's impressed with how she has learned, basically, to have empathy for others. He didn't think she'd be able to do it so soon, so that she has is kind of neat. He's cool with that. Now that she's more secure in herself he's going to step up pushing her out of her comfort zone a little more, if only because he thinks that for twelve, she's a very young twelve and he wants her to be a little more resilient before she chooses where she wants to go. He does think that she does need to be pushed now, because Ronan's whole canon is big on encouraging growth and change and development and he's concerned that she's being a bit ... overly coddled? For example, if he knew that she'd been told not to watch Bambi he would roll his eyes and put it on anyway because at 12 she can handle a coming of age story that involves some death; she's not five. Basically, he thinks she needs to be encouraged to spread her wings a bit, even if she may not like it at the time

Sob, Vanya is now completely convinced that she'll be able to be friends with Julian and is determined to convince him of the same! I'm sure this will go over wonderfully.
Also do you want me to reverse the meme? I will do so if you want!
So Jaime is kind of one of camp's constants for Ronan. Sure they bicker and carry on sometimes, and I assume that at least once a week they do stupid stuff like wrestle one another for the good controller, or Jaime telling him to go to bed you dick at 2:30 in the morning because Ronan is doing something and it is annoying the scarab. But Jaime being there is generally something that Ronan can rely on.
When Jaime lost his memory Ronan was kind of hurt a bit, even if he knew that was a terribly irrational response. He knew that Jaime was afraid and that he could (and should) trust whomever he wanted to help him out, but there was a kind of "well, why didn't you trust me" undertone. But he's kind of shrugged that off. Jaime can choose to trust whomever he wants! It's not that big a deal

I SHALL link me to when Kazuki is out and then I will tag with both Elliot and Hope, because both of them get what it is like to have YOUR DEAR LOVED ONES DIE.
Though for both of them it is kind of "almost everyone I love dearly" so THEY GET IT.
Hope might even tell Kazuki about how he thinks Lightning is dead/gone forever :(

Also Julian's feelings on having Santo in Camp, if there's anything noteworthy. /o/
