Aw, you! *blushes* You are always so complimentary! And I was quaking in my boots about this, sure it wasn't even fit to post. I actually made THREE people read this before I hit the button to make sure it was okay, I was so unsure about it (and one of them gave it the thumbs-down!)Next time I am asking you first; I always feel so much better after a review of yours. Thank you for making me grin the whole way through your comment!

I've always been intrigued by that tale. Now I understand its darker meaning! Delightfully mind-picture painting. The gossiping biddies, the awful everywhere rats, my goodness.

And Greed swiftest on the heels of Death - oh so True! I really love this for its story-telling - "Tell me a story Mama!!!"

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I feel like a one-trick pony sometimes, because I tend to re-tell tales. But it is a lot of fun, and I am pleased that you felt I did it justice. Thank you so much for your very kind words!

Wow! Now I have to come up with something to compete with this? Bleh! This is lovely and dark and poetic and grim... fantastic work.

Pshaw, I say! You are one of the best, and it is I who worries about competing in your league! I am just regurgitating old fairy tales; I let the Grimm Brothers do all my work and just put a little shine on it. I am glad you liked what I did with it, but you are wonderfully inventive, and I always stand in awe of how you come up with your stories. This month will be no different, and I can't wait to read yours! Thank you for the lovely compliment (I really was worried).

For a girl who doesn't really care for Liszt, he sure is popping up a lot on your LJ, LOL!

Just for the record, I like when you retell stories already written. Oh your entirely original stuff is always fantastic, but it is fun to see you rewrite something with such finesse, giving it that brilliant Keppiehed spin. While the tales are always still completely recognizable, there is much more depth to them than than I ever remember from the originals.

Um, does this guy have something for spiders? I'd be willing to take my chances in dealing with him!

*laughs* You are so right! But Saint Saens was too French for this!:P

"brilliant Keppiehed spin" ... *puffs up* I am going to be an insufferable ass the rest of the day!

And hey: you and me both on the spiders. Just the the guy a check and make sure it doesn't bounce, you know what I'm sayin'? He is better than Orkin!

For reals? This is WAY better than my entry! Damn my scruples of not reading entries first to be fair! Damn my honor! LOL

"You never knew desire until I was there, whispering to you."

Best. Line. Ever! I may have to steal it or some variation of it in the future. Such seduction in this.

Very, very good work.

*laughs* This isn't better than yours, I am sure. In fact, I was really worried that it was weak, and upon re-read I saw a bunch of errors that I am too lazy to fix. Blah! But I am absolutely glowing at your compliments. You've swelled my head! Thank you so much!

(And I ADORE your icon. ♥ for Labyrinth!)

Pssh. Whatever. This is fabulous. We are our own worst critics; something I'm sure you know as well.

Labyrinth love =) I've got a bunch of Bowie as Jared and some of Jared and Sarah, but I just can't make myself stop using the fairy.

LOVE Labyrinth. When I was a kid, every time anybody in the house farted, my sisters and I would all roar "SMELL BAAAAD" in our best Ludo voices.
