In today's post, I will refrain entirely from discussing Doctor Who because I'm still not certain on my thoughts, really.  And my heart is still achey.  Silly, little fangirl that I am.

I bought three plants today!  I've decided that my room needs a little something ... colourful/alive/scented?  I'm not sure.  I just wanted to wake up every morning ( Read more... )

I don't like borrowing from libraries either -- which makes me feel like a failure as a booklover and literature ~connoisseur~, really, because isn't every hardcore reader supposed to love libraries? :( They're like the "think green!" sustainability of the bookworld!

But it's like, I HAVE to own the book myself! Borrowing from friends is ok because ... I don't know, it's still something personal, and, oh man I don't know. It's complicated.

haha I agree completely. There's just something about owning the book that's so much more fulfilling than just -borrowing- it. To own the book just seems more... complete. Or something HA i dunno.

hahaha that's pretty insane. I don't think I've ever read quite that much... I tend to read more slowly; if I read that fast, I get so absorbed I have to read more of the same and if there's not more of the same, then I'll just reread it. So mostly it amounts to the same as reading something slowly, for me. I used to have to own because I planned on re-reading, and I do tend to re-read quite a bit, but it tends to depend on the type of book... if it's epic, I'm more hesitant to dive into it again unless I have lots of time, but I still want to own it. *shrugs*

One of them already looks sort of sickly, but it was watered well, still damp when I did the transplanting... The other two seem fine right now, but that one... =/ They are so lovely though, I don't know why I abhorred them before ♥_♥

hahaha there are some books where I just want to read one part, but I feel bad if I haven't read everything leading up to it because that's how it was ~*~intended~*~ to be read or whatever *le sigh* weird quirk, I know.

I have fertilizer that dissolves into H2O! So I can do that! hahaha. It wasn't that I actively disliked them, I just thought they were kind of ... dumb? LOL that's so bad, but oh well. I guess abhorred was too strong a word, but yeah... =/

Hah, since I got my job a year ago (close enough), I've spent a ridiculous amount on books. I'm pretty sure like 25% of all the money I've made has gone towards books. Working in a bookstore is baaad. You feel like you're saving money 'cause of the discount, but then you just end up buying more.

So you are completely normal for that, haha.

LOL! I was debating applying at a bookstore, or at FutureShop or something for the discount, since i like to horde books & cds/dvds, but I've started to change my mind on that for exactly the reason you just outlined hahahaha oh man.

I guess I'm a book snob, because I'm not a fan of borrowing books either. There's just something satisfying about owning them. XD I'm pretty sure I haven't read at least 25% of the books I own.

I dunno what happened to tielan. :( I tried her LJ last night and POOF. :(

totally agreed. I'm not sure what it is, but it's almost like owning a piece of the content too? I dunno, something weird like that which makes sense in my mind.

*angsts* how will I get my dose with her gone? *woe*
