hey man, speaking of knitting, i thought of you the other day because i went to the local thriftstore and there is an entire volume of hard cover knitting books in wonderful condition and with wicked patterns in them. the lady said she would sell me the entire set for $5 bucks! and theres like 20 books! anyway, i was wondering if you would like them? they have some really cool patterns, but i would understand if 20 knitting books is too many. if so, i can pick out some cool ones.

I'm glad the package came-at least the mail is more reliable than it is in Italy. Sounds like I'm going to be cooking quite a bit during the holidays :). Thank goodness the temperature has finally dropped so that I can turn on the oven! When is your flight to Chicago? And Sarah -$5 for 20 books- great- go for it. Also- saw an article in Bon Appetit that the newest culinary rage is pink salt blocks from the Himalayas - food globalization. Hugs, Mom
