This is.. incredibly brilliant. I love the Slytherin moral code; not moral bankrupcy, exactly, more like self-preservation and preservation of those they love. And the point about the Aurors was really something I hadn't considered; it really confuses me how people could be so fanatical about overthrowing Voldemort that they'd work with someone like Crouch who'd so obviously lost his moral compass, especially with Lily and James and presumably Neville's parents having a special interest taken in them because of their skills by Dumbledoor. Of course, there's room for debate about whether Dumbledoor's compass was exactly pointing true north throughout the series *g
