Last week I finished restoring my Singer sewing machine. It was a ton of work to clean the mechanism, get it running smoothly, and then to clean up the cabinet. Days and days of taking it apart, oiling it, and polishing everything up. There was almost 100 years of stuff on it, though obviously it hadn't been too badly taken care of. My dad has two or more old Singers from the garbage but I'm not sure if they are working. My mom is currently using them as desks.
