Breakfast pizza?

Jun 25, 2021 12:43

Had a silly food idea.

Breakfast pizza. No sauce, but cheese, scrambled eggs, ans sausage or bacon. Maybe mushrooms and green omions too.

It *sounds* like it might work, but I don't have the ingredients to hand. Nor do I want to use the oven in a heat wave.

You could use salsa or hot sauce for the sauce.

Why no sauce? I've used marinara as an omelet ingredient before.

For individual-size pizzas, pita bread works fine as a crust.

I've already had breakfast today; I'll try this tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Pasta sauce is too thin to use as a substitute for a good thick marinara. And I had to substitute "Mexican Blend" shredded cheese for Mozzarell. Eggs, check; facon bits in lieu of actual meat, check, mushrooms, onions, basil, garlic salt.

I perennially over-top my pizzas, and pita bread isn't as stiff as a New York crust, so I ended up with a knife-and-fork pizza. Very tasty, tho'.
