New resource for Kemetics!

It's called Eternal Egypt, and it's a collection of ancient Egyptian rituals translated from temple walls and presented in a way which is immediately useful to the Kemetic reconstructionist. In fact, it's written by one of our own- but with an eye for ( Read more... )

Wow, that is exciting! Even if the rituals are closer to the traditional (and thus difficult), it's a baseline from which to make reasonable changes.

I've been wishing there was something like this for a while. Great stuff :D

Yay!:) Yes, I think you may be surprised at how much can easily be worked into a simple, personal devotion- especially when it's done gradually. But even if it's not practical in someone's schedule to do a full ritual, there is still great inspiration here and it's useful to see what the rituals looked like in their more complete versions. As you say- it provides a baseline. My daily practices draw heavily from this resource now, although it's usually an abbreviated form unless it's a special festival day. But it is incredibly wonderful to finally *have* something special that I can do on those important days!!!

I'm glad that you at least get to go for some of it- many, many people weren't. There seems to be a good sized crowd in attendance this year, but it's no where near as large as it's been in years past. Perhaps that's why I found so much nice stuff in the vender's room, though- lol! Not as much competition!!! I'm working on some photographs of what I was able to bring home, to post to my own LJ in celebration of the fact. :)

There are Egyptian presentations on Saturday and Sunday morning as well, so I hope you get to see both if you're interested in them! I was there late Friday and through much of Saturday- I came back to spend a day with my cat, and I'll return to the con on Monday.
