The Adventures of Addison Barros, Celebrity Relic-Hunter [6]

Jan 05, 2011 11:50

Hey everyone, and welcome back (again) to another chapter of Addison's adventures! :)

So last time Addi had her first child, Ian Barros, who went from being the cutest baby ever to the cutest toddler ever to the cutest child ever (are you sensing a pattern here?). They took their first ~family trip to China, where Addi earned her 3rd level Visa, and started an adventure chain that culminated in her needing to go to France.

Let's continue, shall we?

I figured that, in keeping tradition with what I've done so far, it was time for Addi to change her outfits again (I've changed them every third chapter). So here's her new everyday (I wish my mouse hadn't been hovering over it, or else it wouldn't look so weird).

Formal.

Undies. Just found these under the old stuff (which was really stupid because they're new), and I had to use them.

Sexy, sexy. ;)

Athletic.

And swimwear!

Anyway, it's time for another ~family trip! This time, to France. :D

Because the next stage of her opportunity was to get to France, she got Visa points just for showing up. And now it's time to continue with the China-originated adventure!

After discussing the Chinese journal with the nectar-maker (forgive me if I can't remember his name), she was sent to the groundskeeper of the Landgraab mansion to discuss an affair of some importance.

After talking about the affair, Claudine (the groundskeeper) wanted opal. Usually when people want you to collect shit for you, the map view shows you where you can locate it. There was only one location for opal, and it was in a tomb under some rocks that Addi couldn't move without a ~special pickaxe from China.

FML.

Anyway, I did a quick search online and found out that there was another way to get opal: you could buy it from the relic store, whose merchandise changed daily. So all she had to do was show up once a day to check their merchandise, and soon enough she'd get opal.

While I was waiting on the store, Addi got a couple of other opportunities, starting with this one. During her second adventure in France she helped this couple access the walled-up area on their property, which turned out to be a secret garden. Apparently it's haunted, so she had to talk to the spirit that was living in there and figure out what he wanted.

Because she got the opportunity in the middle of the night she couldn't go visit, so I had Addi kill some time.

She excavated some stuff at the forgotten burial mound, and hunted around there for anything else of importance.

And then I remembered the little island that you can only access by teleporting. So Addi got her meditation on and, after a couple of hours...

...she "zeneported" over to the island and looted it.

[Obligatory looting picture.]

I just love how cool it looks when she teleports places. Moving on.

Anyway, morning came and Addison was able to go talk to the ghost in the secret garden. Apparently he wants to plant pomegranates.

Hey, whatever works for you.

It took me SO long to figure out where to find pomegranates, but turns out the pomegranate tree was hiding in the garden of the guy who Addi asked out on a date for some chick.

Addi just stole a few from him without announcing her presence. You do what you gotta do ;)

Anyway, after she gave the pomegranates to what's-her-face, Addi had to go talk to the ghostie again, who wanted to have his remains placed next to his wife in the tomb under the secret garden. Easy enough.

Opportunity solved, and Visa points earned! :D

Shortly after finishing up the ghost opportunity, Addison got one to interview some guy about the history of nectar and report back.

This adventure proved most rewarding, because I got to ENTER THE LANDGRAAB HOUSE WITH A MOTHERFLIPPING KEY HELL YEAH.

/caps lock.

Anyway, enjoy some picspam:

Apparently turning on the radio disarmed the two traps. Nice, nice.

And she got the notes!

She also got to enter the library, sitting room, and sunroom. W00t! :D

YAAAAAAY IAN *FLAIL*

He's already completed half of his LTW - which is to max the logic skill and body skill for the "perfect mind, perfect body."

Anyway, after returning the papers to Manon, having a shower, having the papers translated, and again returning them to Manon, Addison finished that opportunity.

AND SHE GOT HER LEVEL 3 VISA!

(I was supposed to screenshot it but i took a regular picture instead; damn me. I'm retarded.)

So I couldn't get anymore French opportunities for Addi and the store hadn't brought in any opal yet, so I was getting frustrated.
And then I had a miraculous idea: zeneporting.
I had Addi stand just outside the tomb, and was able to click the down-a-level button and see inside it, so that meant she could teleport there. So, after two hours of meditative concentration, she ended up on the floor of the tomb! :D

Have some picspam!

This tomb was the most fucking frustrating one EVER. Like, I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. She had the hardest time getting anywhere, and most of the time I was at my wit's end and ALL I REALLY WANTED WAS THE OPAL BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT, NOR COULD I GET THROUGH THE TOMB.

*calms down*

Anyway, Addi had to use her meditation skill to get her places more often than not, and ended up gaining a martial art skill point from it (nifty!).

And FINALLY, she found the piece of opal and teleported right out of there.

YES. YES. YES. YES.

*FLAILS*

MORE EXPLORATION OF CHATEAU DE LANDGRAAB! 8D

Meanwhile, Ian was getting a little stir-crazy after having spent six (yes, six) days at the base camp. He'd already finished his logic skilling and, as a child, he couldn't build up his athletic skill so he was basically sitting there.

To give him a break, I sent him down to the river to fish. He seemed to enjoy that. :)

Anyway, here's some Addi-infiltrating-the-Landgraab-manor spam:

She was given the key to what they called the "cellars," but she had to enter it from the third floor.
Yes, it appears that the game lacks sense.

Anyway, the game led her down a hall to one bedroom, through a shared bathroom to another bedroom, where there was a secret door that led down a hallway to a set of stairs. Those stairs went down to the main level and then into the - you guessed it - cellars.

MOAR PICSPAM:

She found the key to the Dragon's Maw in China, as well as another key that was just sitting on the desk (I don't know what it's for yet).

She also completed a wing of the house! Fuck, yes. :D

Oops, this is a little behind? xD

Anyway, turns out there was a room in the cellars that was purely for the production of grapes and other shit that could be made into nectar (which I'm beginning to suspect is the game's version of wine...I don't know how I just got there now).

And when Addi finished up down there, I realized again that she could teleport, so I sent her up to the second level, just past the stairs which were guarded by boobie traps, and then let her explore.

MORE PICSPAM (SO LAZY):

This is a kid's bedroom, but the door Addi entered in the last picture was actually to their bathroom, which then led to this room. JSYK.

Moving on...

Another secret door! It just led up to a tower that had, like, two treasure chests with money in them. Not worth taking pictures of.

Then I sent her back to where she'd started, and up a set of stairs to the third floor. There were a couple of doors she could open, and I was gung-ho until...

...she got electrocuted by another. Fucking. Trap.

Could the owner of this house be any more paranoid? Seriously.

Nothing like taking a bath in a creepy old house that doesn't belong to you. ;)

And while all this was happening, Ian was just fishing. He seems to be enjoying it though, so suffice it to say that he'll be doing that on all the other vacations (until he's a teen and can start ~body building).

Anyway, I cut their vacation short because the next step in that long list of opportunities is to return to China to use the key she found in the Landgraab mansion. So they must return home for now.

Next time, China! :D
