Hey everyone, I'm back with more of Addison's adventures! Because the entry pic is so goddamn large I've hidden it under a cut to be considerate, and we can recap there. :)
So last time Addison Barros, my newest TS3 sim, started working her way up the celebrity ladder and made it to 4 stars before I sent her on vacation to France, where she raided some tombs and catacombs, and tried her hand at making it through one big-ass boobie trap of a house. I sent her home after her 3 day vacation was over and she'd achieved her level one French visa, so we'll reconvene in Bridgeport.
In case some of you didn't know, one of the EPs allows the sims to do laundry!
I LOVE IT!
Anyway, since Addi was at home I added a couple more things to her apartment to make it look more lived-in (and to utilize awesome TS3 clutter options), so here's some apartment-spam:
LOL this made me smile. I really, really love some of the TS3 moodlets. xD
So while Addison was waiting for the repairman to fix her TV, she got an opportunity to have a cameo in a movie, and went and did that.
Shortly after, my game imploded and I had to restart from where the repairman came to her apartment. FML.
So when I returned and the repairman started to fix her television again, Addi got a new opportunity to cameo in a play instead.
All of her fans were thrilled. Having learned my lesson from before, I saved right after this happened. And then Addi went back to her apartment to invite one of her friends, Tom Wordy, over to ~reconnect (they'd lost their friendship when she'd gone on her trip).
They got back to being friends rather quickly and then Addison asked him if he was single. When he was, the flirting commenced.
Oh, and LOL did you notice his skin glitch? Gotta love it.
I really can't be assed to caption the next string of photos, so have some cute spam.
WOOOO~
Awwww :)
Anyway, after they got together as a couple, they did the bad thing (or whatever the kids are calling it these days).
Hmm, that seems to have fixed his skin glitch!
Anyway, after seeing Tom out, Addison called for a plane to France. It was time for her to resume her worldly travels.
After getting to France she promptly got an opportunity to deliver titanium to some guy on his nectar farm, and as soon as she got to the nectar farm...
You guessed it. The game crashed. Again.
And the kicker? As much as I was all gung-ho about saving, I hadn't saved since after Addi cameo'd in the play. So she had to redo her ~relations with Tom Wordy, as well as her short trip to France. FML.
I rebooted the game but decided to play without my "custom content" (basically the town I downloaded from the TS3 site), and hoped to God everything worked better.
So here's the relationship development with Tom Wordy, all over again. I hope it's as cute as it was the first time... :\
Oh, and here are his traits that I know so far. Sounds like a stereotypical rapper (he's a 4-star celebrity rapper, btw xD).
Yaaaay they're a couple again /caring.
LOL THIS WAS SO FUNNY. When he left the apartment, Tom had the biggest sex swag there ever was. I died laughing.
Oh, and then I saved, of course.
Welcome to France. It's time to save again.
Anyway, when Addison got to France she had a new opportunity to go check out this walled-in area of some chick's property, because she couldn't get into it. Oh, and did I mention that I get Visa points for every single step of my opportunity? (Like, if she offers to help she gets Visa points; if she actually does it, she gets Visa points; if she reports back, she gets Visa points.)
After I accepted the opportunity, I saved my game again.
Anyway, have some exploring spam.
Just to be clear, Addison went right down to their basement because I figured it was most likely a tomb under the house leading up to the walled-in area.
Holyshit this was the scariest moment of my life; she put her hand in the hidden switch and then, like, one thousand bugs swarmed her. I nearly shit my pants.
Anyway, as I expected, my hunch proved correct: it was like an underground tomb-tunnel to the "secret garden" walled-in area. Actually, it was the least creepy tomb I'd been in (with the exception of the fucking bugs).
Anyway, YAY! Visa points!
Gurl, u mad?
Like, she actually wanted me to ask some guy out on a date for her. But, I mean, whatever gets Addi her Visa points. So off she went.
Well, that was easy.
Poor girl was such a wall-flower, but at least she got her date and was happy. :)
So after completing two opportunities I decided to sent Addi back to the big old house (it's called Chateau de Landgraab, btw) to try again to get through it. After reading the "lesson" on traps, I had an idea:
Where there were statues available, Addi could push them over the traps, which would then disarm them. That worked exactly once, because there weren't very many statues lying around. D:
Anyway, she got up the main stairs only to find more boobie traps that were ~too advanced for her. I kept looking around for more clues and shit but found nothing, so I sent Addi down to the groundskeeper's shack to investigate over there.
Nice, nice! That particular "tomb" wasn't too hard; all she had to do was open the door with her key and walk in to get the notification that she'd finished. LOLs.
Since I was flying high off of my little ~victory, I returned to the main house with a renewed vigor. And then I noticed this hidden switch in the garden.
It disabled both the traps in front of one of the entrances, and one of the ones that leads down the one hall that I definitely want to access: once I can get past the second trap I can access two doors, one of which that leads to a set of stairs that go down into a basement tomb, undoubtedly.
After that I didn't have any more luck inside the house so Addi returned outside to snoop around there. I had a little happy spaz when I realized that she could "inspect" these massive boulders, but then had a sad when it said that I needed some kind of axe from China to be able to break them down and get to what's underneath.
This clearly means I can't finish all the "levels" independently of one another. That makes me a sad panda. D:
Anyway, Addison got a new opportunity. Coincidentally, it was the same one that borked my game for the second time - to get titanium to the nectar guy. I saved my game for probably the thousandth time that day, and sent Addi to get the titanium, and then to the nectar factory.
Game didn't bork. YAAAAY!
Anyway, she got a new opportunity, but since she was at the nectary I figured she might as well explore. Here's some exploring spam:
Unfortunately, after she got to a certain part she had to give up temporarily because there was a locked door that needed a key she didn't have. D: So I sent her to complete the other opportunity she'd been given.
That was easy.
That was even easier!
After that I found another opportunity to offer my help to the museum curator, and then to check out the Egyptian exhibit at the museum because apparently some guards were getting spooked by a noise. So she headed over to the museum.
However, before I could get to the Egyptian exhibit, I noticed a hidden switch that activated a secret door. Curious, I sent Addison to explore. Unsurprisingly, it led to another tomb.
No, this wasn't the Egyptian exhibit; she hadn't even got to that. xD
Anyway, have some exploring spam which I will occasionally narrate because this was the hardest tomb EVAR.
So after going through a few chambers, Addi reached one that had two hallways to access one room. One was guarded by a trap, the other was safe. However, in order to access the next room Addi had to go through the trapped one; if she went through the safe tunnel, the door would close. This presented a small dilemma.
I tried the second door, which led to a smaller room with three statues. Only one could be moved. When I moved it and placed it on top of the block at the top of the room, the door to the room locked, but another one opened. It allowed Addi to access a treasure chest, so yay for her!
After that, there was a platform free and it had little footprints on it so I had Addi jump on it. When she did, the trap was disabled on one side and enabled on the other. I had Addi move the statue back to its original place so she could leave the room she was in, and then sent her through the newly safe tunnel. Unsurprisingly, the door to the next room didn't shut in her face this time. :D
More exploring spam!
YAAAY! *FLAIL*
So after this, Addi actually did go up and check out the Egyptian gallery, where there was nothing wrong. She went to report back to the curator, and was given a new assignment:
Ironically, when I sent her back to the museum, the game was point to the hidden switch as the "something amiss." When Addi returned to the curator to report in, she got yet another assignment:
Oh, the irony; it burns.
Oh, and Addi got her second-level Visa! She's one away from having maxed her Visa in France! :D
Anyway, after returning to the tombs that she'd just explored, it turned out that the gravestone that I'd carelessly passed over was the sources of the noise. A former curator hadn't got out of the tombs alive, and his ~spirit was making noises to be taken to the cemetery and buried properly.
It took me forever to figure out how to get his remains into Addi's inventory, but I finally gave up and just googled it. She had to pay her respects to the grave to be able to reach into the hole in front of the grave for his remains, which would then be placed in her inventory. She'd take them to the cemetery, and everything would be fine.
After that, she was tasked with a final assignment: to talk to the curator about it.
WOOO~
After that long-ass assignment I decided Addi deserved a break, and sent her back to the base camp where she met with one of the Asian travellers. I got her to learn one of their songs, which was really cool. I've done that before, though; quite a few of the locals and other travellers that Addi's been in contact with have taught her their local songs.
Finally, an assignment that isn't too taxing! :D
WOOT. That was easy :D
And I'll leave you here, as Addi returns to Bridgeport!
Have a good one, everybody :D
