The Adventures of Addison Barros, Celebrity Relic-Hunter [1]
Hey everyone!
I got three new TS3 EPs yesterday (Ambitions, World Adventures, and Late Night), and tried to install them on my big honkin' sims computer (y'know, the one with the virus) and, unsurprisingly, it didn't work for me. So I installed the base game, as well as all my new EPs, on my Mac. Let me tell you, the graphics are better, the game runs faster, and it's just in general more awesome. So I started a new game, deciding to do my best to play facets of both Late Night & World Adventures, and am going to upload pictures every now and then. Here's the first chapter!
I started a new game in Bridgeport, the city that comes with Late Night, and went right into CAS.
After quite a bit of fiddling, I came out with Addison Barros, a pretty redhead. (Also, let me just draw attention to how awesome the graphics in this game are now.)
Anyway, Addison Barros is also a character in one of the blog stories I plan to release in the summer. I was short on names and stole one from myself. xD (And the TS2 Addison looks nothing like her TS3 counterpart, if you were wondering.)
I gave Addison the traits Photographer's Eye, Athletic, Good Kisser, Adventurous, and Star Quality. A little bit of base game, a little bit of World Adventures, and a little bit of Late Night. :P
So I didn't fully understand her LTW when I chose it, but I do now.
Basically, when a sim first travels, they can only stay like 3 days. If they want to stay longer they have to build up their Visa; each country has 3 Visa levels. So Addison has to get level 3 Visas in all three countries. Fun times! xD

Anyway, when Addison joined Bridgeport I moved her into a bachelor apartment on the 11th floor of this building.
It isn't much to look at, but I'll renovate later.
Since Addison has such star quality, I figured I'd get her a job in the film industry to make her money so that she could go on trips.
She became a background extra; poor Addison. I know she wants to be in the spotlight ;)
Okay, this is actually so cool. When you meet a celebrity you get a chance to impress them. When Addison met Reuben and impressed him, she actually went up to one-star celebrity level.
LOL nice. She's a "fame leecher."
Because she did such a good job at impressing Reuben, I had Addison talk to him more so that they could eventually become friends.
Oh, and if you're wondering, I took all the screen-caps because I wasn't sure where to find the screenshots on my Mac. I just found them today, so there'll be considerably less of these in the coming chapters.
Anyway, after hanging out with Reuben a bit (whose name I still laugh at, btw, because it reminds me of the sandwich), Addison got hungry and went to a restaurant, where she ended up meeting Alexy Fresco, who's a one-star celeb just like she is. He's actually fairly good looking, so I had her get to know him more.
Score!

I redecorated the apartment while Addison was at work; I like it much better. :)
Okay, so I discovered how to cheat in TS3, and started motherloding Addison until she was independently wealthy. This was purely because she was having a hard time getting anywhere in her job; her shifts were long and by the end of them her chances for promotions were gone because her performance had decreased instead of increased. I was sick of it and was just like "fuck it, she's going to buy this place and quit her job." So she did!
And look at that; I didn't even make her marry someone to get their money, the way I did with sim!Kelsey. xDDDD

After Addison bought her first business she actually got interested in real estate, and wanted to buy 3 more buildings, so I did that for her: she's the owner of two swanky bars and a dance club, now.
WOOT.
DOUBLE WOOT!
Addison had Alexy over to flirt, and everything was going well.
In case you're wondering, the outcome sucked though. A couple of sim days after this happened, he got turned into a vampire. I'm not having Addison mess around with vampires, because she gets a negative moodlet every time she's around them; it makes her feel like she's "hunted."

Addison had an opportunity presented to her by her agent to tone her ~fab bod, so she did. Yay for celebrity points!
Speaking of celeb points, this got her up to four-star status. At this point I decided it was time for her first vacation; she was enough of a celebrity, and it was time to get started on her LTW.
Welcome to Champs Les Sims (?), France. :D
So basically when you're travelling for the first time, your sim gets sent to the "Base Camp." It's the place where they can replenish their needs (except I found out how to max Addi's motives and keep them static so I don't need it, really), and meet other travellers. When Addi showed up at the abse camp she met Salim (pictured), Isis, Sharif, and Yanyu Sau. Most of the travellers were from Egypt, but Yanyu Sau was from China (I love EA's fake-Asian names).
I knew there were tombs and catacombs and shit to explore, so I sent Addi right over to the graveyard and she went to explore the catacombs in the mausoleum. Unlike Summer in my last game, Addi didn't enjoy herself; apparently she saw some scary shit.
Oh, paparazzi followed her to the graveyard to take some pictures. This is a common theme throughout her vacation, and it made me laugh the whole time.
SPOILERS: Addi got a couple of paparazzi stuck in the tombs that she was looking through.

Anyway, behind the mausoleum were these five or six doors that led to treasure boxes and stuff. There were some that could be opened right away, some that needed stone-keys, and some that the doors wouldn't even open. Addi got through most of them but had to come back later for the one whose door wouldn't open.
Oh, and she found this hiding between the buildings. There are a lot of stuff lying around on the ground, and so she's been investigating everything. Usually she gets money or ancient coins from it. xD
Since I cheated her motives full, Addi didn't have to go back home to rest that night; she just went to the other burial ground, which, let me tell you, was far creepier.
She did have a lot more luck finding stuff, though.
Also, she found her very first tomb, which we went right into. And the whole entire time, I was completely on edge, LOL.
Anyway, I can't be assed to caption all the rest of her exploring photos, so enjoy some picspam!

This maze was the trippiest thing EVER, and it took so long to root through before she could access all the doors that were available to her.
WOOOOT!
Anyway, after Addi finished up she had an opportunity to complete with this French store owner, who wanted her to go down into the tomb again for some ~mysterious item~ that he'd left behind.
It was a baseball. Fail.
Oh, that explains things.
FUCK YES. Now she can go on longer vacations, have an easier time getting her next Visa, and search through more tombs and shit! :D
Ooops, picture taking memory lapsed. So let me explain this.
After getting her first Visa, I had Addi go up to this old house just outside the town that was considered a landmark and not a residential thing. What was weird, though, was that she couldn't seem to get into the house! I had her go down into their cellars and check around in there, and found nothing more than a few treasure chests. When she came back up to ground level I saw this smattering of holes guarding one of the side doors, and was like "OMG SCORE SHE CAN GET LOTS OF MONEY AND STUFF FROM THESE!" but when I clicked on one it selected all of them and I realized it was a TRAP. So I had her disarm it and she went into the house, and found even more traps. Like, there were traps literally EVERYWHERE. She disarmed most of them but had trouble with a select few that the game claimed were "too advanced" for Addi. Eventually I had to give up because she got electrocuted, and then stuck between two traps that kept going off and wouldn't let her past. I cheated her back to the base camp, and at that time her vacation was over anyway, so I sent her back to Bridgeport.
When I go back in game, which will be in a matter of minutes, Addi is going back to Champs Les Sims for a longer stay, to get her second Visa and finally make it through that house!
