On waking up on Friday morning, I wished myself a cheerful Happy Birthday. Though the website for Temuco airport says an hour check-in time for internal flights, when I'd checked in online on the 26th, there were warnings of allowing at least two hours in the busy holiday season. A good flight and an lovely birthday cake surprise after dinner seem like a good way to celebrate to me. I love that photo from the flight. It's ringing geologic bells in my head but I haven't had enough tea this morning for things to click into place. Hmmmm?

The hotel and it's little courtyard looks great. I could see myself enjoying a stay there.

I took quite a lot of photos from the flight, especially of rivers, with the idea of orienting myself geographically afterwards. But that one I posted definitely had the most striking geology.

The hotel is a real find. It's a shame my last night was blighted by the three couples, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Not doing very well at keeping up myself - but I love that last picture, all black-and-white and light-and-shade and cornerwise!
