It is 7:30 p.m. where I live. The weather people on the news have assured me that the storm is just now seriously starting to intensify, and that we will score an additional 1-3" per hour over the next 3-4 hours. That will be on top of what was, as of 6 p.m., 14" of snow here where I live.

This morning the sky is a cold, pale blue, and the sun is bright, though not warm. It is both cooled and intensified by the snow, which lies on the ground looking puckered like a quilt from where the winds raced across yesterday during the storm.
