My year of reading

Or rather, of not reading much at all.

Turns out that my happy personal life took up most of my time, you see, and in addition to not writing, I was not reading much either. Oh sure, I read a few books here and there - almost all of them for review here or over at Guys Lit Wire, but otherwise, I did precious little reading, apart from Better ( Read more... )

In recent years, I've read about 300 works in a year. The majority is usually novels, then a ton of plays and scripts. It depends how many projects I've been fortunate enough to be a part of, and how much filming/rehearsal/performance time each of those projects has required.

I devoted more time to writing this year than in the year prior - still not enough time, in my estimation, but I'm proud of the efforts I made and have promised myself to write even more next year. I have a few fun things in the works... :)

Hooray for more writing! And I used to read like that, and may one day do so again. In the meantime, I'm happy with my minor triumph of reading anything at all.

Thanks!
The days when I don't read OR write are painful - unless I didn't do either of those things BECAUSE I was on set or in the theatre. Because I want to be on set or on stage every day of my life, forever.

I love imagining you all snuggled on the couch with your books.
