Seven Things on a Saturday

1. We are battening down the hatches - or would be, if we had hatches - in preparation for the confluence of Hurricane Sandy and the unnamed storm from the West, both of which are coming to meet up with a massive cold front from Canada. You're right there, aren't you? I am happy Sandy is veering north for my own sake, but that's rather selfish of me. I hope you all weather her easily.

Well, it certainly looks and acts like poison ivy, since it's little patches of raised, bumpy, itchy spots, and it's almost only on my left hand, including the patch smack in the center of my palm. (There's a small spot at the base of my thumb on the inside-of-the-wrist side on my right hand.) It is, however, starting to dry up, which is good. And Kismet is strictly indoors, so I can't blame her. Wish I knew for certain where I picked it up!

I hope the storm isn't as bad as they're making it sound -- and stay dry tomorrow! :)

The storm was every bit as bad as they made it sound, but we lucked out and avoided any real damage.

And the poison ivy appears to be drying up, although I'm still not positive how I got it.

Funny, I feel like I live quite far away from you until something like this happens...from the perspective of a hurricane you're pretty much down the street! Here's hoping the power stays on and we just get an interesting show.

We're not far apart at all, really - it just feels that way. We were lucky to avoid any real damage!
