Wrap-up of last week's travels

The retreat

I got to see my lovely Aunt Martha twice last week, once Thursday, when she came up to see her new stove and to join us for lunch (grilled cheese - NOM!), and again on Friday when she and my Uncle Jim came up for the weekend, arriving before we'd skipped out. Sounds wooooonderfuuuuuuuuul!! I'm going to have to look into conferences in my area. I hardly ever go to any that I can actually drive to.

This particular one is good because it has so many craft-oriented workshops, but I've never attended a conference and walked away without inspiration (at the very least).

The retreat and conference came at just the right time. I desperately needed the time to devote to my projects as well as the luxury of time to assess my direction. The workshops provided the focus I needed as well as excellent tips on craft and technique. Hanging with writer friends and meeting new ones were the frosting on the cupcake. I LOVE frosting.
