Oh! I believe Stephanie Burgis was just telling me about this novel the other day! It sounds very entertaining. Esp. the "wet man in a pond" part ;-)

There are actually TWO men in ponds within this book, one of which goes in starkers.

Looking at that cover, I can't help but wish we still wore those kinds of dresses. Not practical, I know, but how very pretty.

It really is a lovely cover. And those dresses are gorgeous - although I'm never entirely certain that the ones pictured on romance novels were actually or widely worn (they tend to show so very much bosom when you can see the front, and I rather think that a fichu would have been used to preclude quite so much from being on display in most instances).
