Tea and biscotti break

I seriously have almost nothing for you today. *rummages around in bin of possible blog topics*

Let's see - I could tell you how very much I love Biffy Clyro's song, "Many of Horror", which is somewhere on the Charlie St. Cloud soundtrack. Not that it's easy to find that information because they haven't actually released a soundtrack, or even a ( Read more... )

Charlie St. Cloud songs kellyrfineman August 26 2010, 21:15:29 UTC
In alphabetical order by title:

Airplanes by B.o.B. featuring Hayley Williams
Feint by No Second Troy
Magic Show by Electric Owls
Many of Horror by Biffy Clyro
Pull My Heart Away by Jack Peñate
Run by Snow Patrol
So Far Around the Bend by The National
While We Were Dreaming by Pink Mountaintops

And by the by, I really enjoyed the movie Charlie St. Cloud, and not just because Zac Efron is really, really pretty in it.

I want biscotti!!!

Fun fact: I'm a Jersey Italian, southern Italian descent (Calbria and Avalino, outside of Napoli.) If you know anything about southern Italians, it's that we, whether American or off the boat, cut off the last sound in any given word. In my family, biscotti was pronounces, "bij-gut" (both short vowels sounds.)

I had no idea what biscotti was for the LONGEST time. It was only a few years ago that I finally made the connection.

Most South Philly Italians were probably southern Italians as well - they eat "ragot" (ricotta) and "managot" (manicotti). And they look at you funny if you pronounce it more-or-less correctly (with the proper numbers of syllables and vowel sounds). Stick us in Italy, however, and my "ricotta" will get results that their "ra-got" will not.

Yes! Hahahaa! A friend once asked me to have dinner at her house. They were having manicotti. I'd never HEARD of such a thing! Until I got there and saw it was money-gut, as we called it.

Tell me, do you eat pasta and sauce? Or macaroni and gravy?

I eat pasta with sauce. The South Philly folks eat macaroni with gravy. I'm betting you're a gravy girl - am I right?

Sounds like a productive day, even with the Loud Snorer of Note.

I had to laugh, not only because he was snoring so obnoxiously loudly in a public place, but also because there were at least 10 of us in the cafe (laughing or raising eyebrows), but nobody was willing to do anything about it. Thank heavens for Zac, the guy in charge.
