I suspect that you're missing the last stanza because her original editors "improved" her poems by changing punctuation and abridging stuff they had difficulty with.
Also, did you notice from the article that Emily had red hair? Her brother, Austin, had auburn hair, too.

That sucks....
WOW! That article-which I hadn't read before my post-is quite something!
Such scandal in the House of Emily!
As so often happens when I read posts from you, I am torn between this desire to "react" to "these words" in IMAGERY-lots and lots of images!!-and the sobering realization I'm here at work and THAT'S the END of it!
Me too! I remember thinking (based on Norton) that she must have been quite a depressed person, between this one, "Because I could not stop for Death, he kindly stopped for me" and "I heard a Fly buzz when I died". But working through my collection of her poems (all of them - or most of them, anyhow), I've completely reformed my opinion. And my current opinion includes thinking that she was a pretty innovative thinker, and also quite a sexual being.
His theory on epilepsy makes sense. And I was surprised to find out she and her brother had red/auburn hair. She's already so much more colorful than she was appeared!
