I spent the month of November participating in Tara Lazar's Picture Book Idea Month. The goal was to come up with one idea for a possible picture book each day

Its like quilting - instead of a stash of fabrics ready to play with, I have a stash of ideas, some of which have piqued my interest. I have to make a plan to go back and actually pull some out. It helps that angeladegroot did PiBoIdMo as well - we are good at joint challenges (and do a writing exercise each week in addition to our regular work, plus check up on submissions, etc.)
