Kelly, I swallowed my pride (as in "I have a great filing system I love, I don't need anything else) and bought this, because despite the fact that I had a great filing system I was relatively happy with, I never used it (when we moved to our house THREE years ago I started piling instead of filing, and it's all gone to hell since then.) The Freedom Filer lets me put everything in a file when it comes in, although I do expect to eventually re-file some of the stuff in the non-date-based system I prefer. But this has been a HUGE help, so I do recommend it.

Good luck with those taxes. Yech.

I'm not convinced there's a magic bullet with filing - it's the actual doing of it that needs done.

Thanks! I've bookmarked this. I was just complaining today about not being able to open and close my main filing drawer easily. The stuff that doesn't fit in there is on a shelf behind my desk. The Shelf Of Doom.

Good luck with your sorting and organizing. Hurrah for recycling! Healing thoughts for the little guy. Yay for Alice icon. And - thank you, LJ reminders! - HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! :)

You're welcome! (I know I'm two days ahead, but I'd rather be early than late.)

It went well, I think. Fingers and toes crossed!

Poor puppy isn't feeling well at all - I think that all the prodding and poking at the vet's this morning made it worse for him.

I just know I need to actually, y'know, do the filing. And set up places to contain the paper until I deal with it.

I must say that TurboTax makes it relatively easy to sort out. Not easy-peasy, but much easier than reading all the supplementary materials in the federal forms packets.
