ACK! Not that I don't love E.B. White, but he's a dead author, not a living illustrator!

It's a patterned response.

I saw this while perusing the poetry shelf at B&N (which is pitifully lacking). As much as I love Hughes, I was so turned off to see Disney on cover that I didn't open the book. Drat. Now I must go back and look.

It's a Hyperion book, which is owned by Disney. The artwork is absolutely breathtaking, in my opinion.

This book looks gorgeous! I've always loved this poem, but I'm newly enchanted with it, ever since Ashley Bryan performed it in his keynote address at Kinding Words - he was amazing.

The illustrations in the book are really, truly gorgeous. And I'd love to hear Ashley Bryan perform it.

Kindling. With an L. As in lament. As in lamenting the fact that one cannot edit comments, even the second after one hits "post comment."

Weird - I can edit my comments. Then again, I have a paid account, so I never see any advertising on LJ either.

Quite possibly nobody bothered to tell Betsy - thank goodness Doc said something! (I had two instances of "White" instead of "Lewis" - one at the start of the post and one at the end. It's a patterned response, of course, and not an intentional slight - I'd have a problem typing "J.K. Cruthers" or something too.
