The good folks at Boyds Mills Press put out some really impressive poetry books. One that came out this month, which is just perfect for the upcoming winter months, is Red Sled by Patricia Thomas, illustrated by Chris L. I love to learn about new things--especially wordy new things! My friend just shared a poem where she used the tanka form--new to me also. Thanks for sharing, Kelly. :)

I like writing in the tanka form now and again. I've got discussion on the tanka form here at my blog, if you're starting to think about writing one.

This book sounds really fun, and the poetry structure is cool. I'll have to look for this one - thanks for mentioning it.

I think you'll like the illustrations, too. Come to think of it, the illustrations reminded me of some of your work. Particularly the endpapers with the bunny & sled.
