Great job, Kelly! I'm going to check out these books, too. I've got a list now of Mitton books to look for (though I have read Down by the Cool of the Pool). Plum, in particular, sounds great.

I think the answers to numbers three and eight are so interesting, as someone outside of the publishing industry who finds it fascinating to hear how authors feel about how all of that stuff works.

Thanks!

I know just what you mean, and I agree -- and as someone trying to work in the industry, it's heartening to hear that it's not always easy, even for brilliant published poets like Tony, and to hear how he feels about making concessions.

I love that poem!
I'm not picture-book-y or particularly poetic, but I really enjoyed this. Thanks!

You're welcome. And if there were ever a book to get picture book-y or poetic about, this would be it.

You are very welcome. Really, this is my favorite pb poetry collection in my possession, and that is truly saying something. Although Here's a Little Poem comes awfully close.

I hope you enjoy it at least half as much as I do -- it's my favorite picture book poetry collection.

Okay. Last time you mentioned Plum I said I would get it and then forgot. Two times is a charm! I know I'd love this one.

Fantastic interview, too :)

Thanks -- wasn't Tony Mitton wonderful? And you will decidedly love it, and want to hold it, and pet it, and call it George. (Hopefully that's not too obscure a cartoon reference for you!)
