My latest project was the one that took me to Iceland for a bit, a film for HBO and BBC1 called The Girl in the Cafe. It’s directed by David Yates, which is nice because I worked with him on "State of Play." I play the love interest of Bill Nighy, which is fabulous since I’m in love with him off screen as well, yes, it’s true. Who could ask for a ( Read more... )

It’s the ultimate writer’s block, when you just stare at a blank page that’s supposed to say things about your life.

Amen. It's good to see you're not going to fall off the planet though. :-*

I really couldn't bring myself to do that. I don't know whether that's being a coward or being courageous. Thank you though. :-*

I tried to quit smoking once and lasted about 8 hours. I wish you the best of luck.

I bet they were the worst 8 hours of your life. Ta much, I'll give it my all.

Sometimes when I'm not sure what to write about, I just pick the first thing that pops into my head and then start a sentence about it before I even stop to think. The thing is, even if it's shit, once you start writing it's a lot easier to keep going, and you're a lot more likely to come out with something that you like if you keep at it.

I was actually thinking about quitting while I was in France, but the movie I'm filming requires me to wear a corset for about eleven, twelve hours a day, and there's no way in hell I'm letting myself gain any weight while that's going on. I'll just have to give my lungs an extra year to recuperate, I guess sob.

If you get a chance, I'd still really like to talk to you at some point.

For some reason, I absolutely can't do that. Or when I manage to, it's just about the worst paragraph in the existence of writing. If that's how you write all your entries, I'm amazed, because they come out incredibly complex and well thought out. I have a habit of writing something, erasing it completely, and whatever comes out in it's place, I generally like.

Haha, Asia! What a horrible reason to keep smoking! But on a side note, what film is it? The corsets, beastly things. If I never have to wear one again in my career, I could die happy, but I know it probably won't happen.

I promise I'll actually start signing on very soon, perhaps later today/tomorrow night?

I quit and then did really well with not even craving one, and then...well, something must have given in because I had one. I'm lucky to have not returned to the habit fully, but I wish I'd never gone back at all. Some things just aren't that easy to give up, but I think it's all mind over matter. The body can be cleansed of toxins and all that, it's up to us to clean the mind. I'll send you good vibes.

Bill, dreamysigh! Lucky girl!

It's funny how you don't even realise how you've gotten back into the habit, you just pull out a cigarette and there it is. The fresh Spring air is definitely a factor in helping me, as well as good vibes, so thank you. ;-)

Mmm, I know!

Haha, I love that Bill guy. I think you make an amazingly gorgeous couple. Did he sing that song from Love Actually to you? I just tried to quit smoking but failed within 10 hours. I may have to try the patch now.

To quote Joey, the dreamysigh applies quite heavily to him. Thank you! He'll be mine someday, just you wait. He sang a little bit to me at some point in time after the film came out, but I've been too shy to ask recently. Should I beg and get a recording for you? Something about patches and gums icks me out, but I'll buy you some and put them in a care package with cookies.
