It shouldn't matter what the woman's style is. Tell your mum that you're making it for her niece, not for her.

No, the first thing I sold her was earrings for her niece, the set she commissioned for herself. I ended up selling it slightly below cost price, I should really get myself a thicker skin. *Sigh*

I know, not really going to clock her. Just really feel like it sometimes. I don't like how she drags me into her quarrels either. *Sigh*

I would do that, but I don't really have the ability to remake something. And if I could, the new piece almost always looks flat. I only get really inspired if I do it straight from the get go, the most planning I ever do it selecting material.

Do you have pics of your work online? I'd love to see.

I knew you weren't, just saying metaphorically...yeah. I know how you feel on that one, I've wanted to 'Sweeney' my father on a few occasions.

Ah. Yeah, I get what you mean... I've had pieces like that...

Not currently. I don't usually take pictures of my work, but I'll look in my portfolio and see if I can find some. :)

Never sell your jewelry below cost! Next time they will expect that price, and get pissed if you ask for more. It is very much a losing proposition.

I don't do custom orders at all on the beaded jewelry because most people have no idea what they want until they actually see it. A better idea in this situation would have been to make several different versions of the bracelet and earrings, have the client pick out what she wants, and sell the rest to other people.

I know, but this was more or less a one time thing so I figured it'd be ok.

I think I shall do that in the future! ^_^
