Haven't watched any X:1999, we'll have to look into that. As far as anime goes, we haven't been watching much lately--taking a break, I guess. We've watched a few Ghibli movies. For series, we were watching Naruto (which is one that I think they play on the cartoon network, but we download it, of course). We also started Bleach because we picked some of that up at the convention, as well as Chrono Crusade.
As for non-anime, we continued our Asian horror streak last night and watched Suicide Club. It was... strange (but not as strange as Gozu). We liked it, of course.
Oh, and back to series... I've been meaning to tell you, we've been watching Dead Like Me =)
Okay listen.. this entry kinda frightens me. Because (with the exception of the first movie Gozu) I've recently watched/loved all of these movies too!!! Haha. I started reading it and as I got closer to the bottom my eyes kept getting wider and wider with shock. Haha. I loved Tale of Two Sisters and Battle Royale so so so much. I also watched Audition last week for the first time. I thought it was pretty good.. I probably would have liked it a lot more if I hadn't known/seen some of the conclusion already. But it was still enjoyable.
Haha, I've been really wanting to see Suicide Club lately. I've been wanting to watch it for a few years but now that I'm all into the asian cinema, I want to see it even more. How was it? Right now I'm kind of in the middle of The Eye. I took out the DVD but it stopped working about half way through. Talk about frustrating. Battle Royale was my favorite too. And then Tale of Two Sisters. I think Gozu might be on tv tonight or tomorrow. I don't know though. Sundance is having this thing where they're showing an "Asian Extreme" film every Saturday or Sunday. That's how I saw TOTS and Audition.
Suicide Club was WEIRD. It was good, but a tad bit wackier than I expected. I think it's awesome that Sundance is playing these movies on TV. That's how I saw Tale of Two Sisters and Gozu too. I've also recently caught Infection on TV, that one was pretty cool too. I saw the Eye a year or two ago and I think I liked it a lot. I wanna check it out again soon, though.
