i reeeaally want the new ipod touch. i've been looking into getting a new ipod for a few months now and was planning on waiting until christmas for santa to bring me one. but now that i've seen how cool they are, i think i need one much sooner.

mine is worn out. the battery won't hold a charge anymore and it's WAYY out of warranty.

do you still have that pink mini? man, you've held onto that for a long time! the touch is just sooo expensive for the amount of space you get. it doesn't seem practical to me but it is really cool looking!

keep in mind that i don't have NEARLY the amount of music that you and wes and others have. i checked yesterday and i am BARELY over 1 gig.

haha well then i guess a touch would be enough space for you!

oh, if you only have 1 gig you should just get a new nano, they have video screens now and you can get a 4 gig for a buck fifty...I don't it makes sense to pay twice that for a touch

yea the touch is really overpriced for what you get and the amount of battery life. it was made specifically for people to go "ohhh pretty me want" and it works.

you can replace the battery for pretty cheap... though on mine the new battery deteriorated a bit early on (it still works okay, but it has nowhere near the longevity it had when it was new)

With the iPhone getting priced dropped to 399, I'm so thinking about getting one of those and hacking it to work on my network.

You have to remember the iPod touch is an iPod+PDA basically, which is really cool.

They dropped the 4gig to 299 while supplies last, my coworker just got one today!

That's just not enough memory for me though. Even the 16 gig iPod Touch seems a too small.

that's what i'm sayin! i want to be able to put all of my music on my ipod because i know if i don't have everything on there, i'm going to get the urge to listen to a song that's NOT on my ipod.

re: your reply on Dave's journal..

i dunno how to fix pod prollems like that. My battery life is fine, and i dont have any itunes purchased music ... so its not something i've ever run into.

for your needs, i'd def go with the 8 gig Touch, or iPhone. (condensing the iPod and cell phone into one device is pretty effin appealing).

unfortunately, i am not talented enough to be able to configure my iphone away from at&t to tmobile, which is who i have a contract with for the next year.
