Sorry for not being here much lately; just last Monday I found out that I have endometrial cancer with atypia. Not the best thing to hear. I'll have surgery within two weeks and be out of work for 6/9 more. I could really use any good magics' and prayers you might have? Thank you in advance! Feral Cat Winter Shelter

We're having a week of seriously cold weather in N. Texas and our "outdoor" kitties just aren't adapted to it. I built this type shelter in only three hours (it's EASY), so now I can at least sleep at night, knowing that I've tried to help.

Now's a Good Time
With the increased numbers of peculiar animal die-offs' lately, I've noticed a steepening crescendo of nervous foreboding, coming from particularly, but not exclusively, our teens and twenty-somethings.

which involves the recent discovery that although prions, infectious proteins that are the cause of Mad Cow disease have no DNA or RNA, they are nonetheless, able to replicate and adapt to new host cells, repeatedly. Which immediately made me think of ( Read more... ) -
