what would i tell myself? it's ok to trust your own opinion. it's ok to drop things and walk away when you're abused (even though i appreciate the self-knowledge that i eventually got from that situation). standing up for yourself is ALWAYS right, temper tantrums are not.
cold fury works better than hot anger. living well IS very good revenge. and quit worrying that the evil ex won't contact his daughter, she eventually turns out beautifully.

oddly, in a bad fit, I at 13 had a conversation with my then-future self (probably around age 26) ... talked the 13 year old me out of some totally situational stupidity. Hmmmm. What would that 26 year old tell ME, now?
Huh. That's a good one. What would the 26-year-old me tell the 46 year old one? Probably to get out of the damned house more, lol. Go get laid. Move out of that stupid, tiny apartment. I should probably listen to her. ;)
