Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And I really appreciate you understanding that I am currently at maximum capacity for plots and thus couldn't write anything other than a small snippet.

I really have this image in my head of Sam, a ballgown, and combat boots. It's hot.

Of course she has to keep the dress! I'm cheerfully envisioning her wearing it (because the new outfit was getting pretty ripe, and she had to wear something as it dried) while charging (barefoot) into battle, zat in one hand, sidearm in the other, blue fire and bullets blazing.

This is the way I'd imagine that they would handle this - a little off-kilter, but coping, working their way from Plan A to the one that will win it all.

I have this theory that when they finally find a worthwhile trading planet, she trades the dress for a grenade launcher or something equally badass. :)

Lovely. I like how much background and insight you were able to communicate with so few works.

For the price of Carter's shoes, which she was grateful to hand over, they have the room for the night, two meals, and a change of clothing for both of them.

Yes, because Sam probably hates wearing fancy shoes in the best of circumstances, and the end of the world is certainly not the best of circumstances. :)

I love love love how much faith Jack has in his team, even in the face of complete and utter disaster.
