Stump the author, earn a fic

Apr 13, 2008 22:18

A game by which you (yes, you) can earn yourself a 100-150 word drabble.

1. Pick a story, any story. Choose a line, any line, from said story. One shots. Series.
1a. If you choose "he hugged her" or "she kissed him softly" or something equally generic, I will hurt you. ;)

2. I will respond with which story I think it's from.

3. If you ( Read more... )

You had me stumped for a good seven minutes there.

They were things that simply made her Addison along with the flaming red hair, legs that went all the way down to the floor, stylish clothing, flirtatious smile, beautiful laugh and habit of drawing molecules on her bathroom mirror in lipstick.

I like your 1a. clause, if only I had been that smart. ;)

Nickel Plated Pockets.

Ahaha. Well, I figured I'd probably have at least one smartass in the bunch. And if not, at least I covered my bases.

Nice try with the being sneaky and choosing the one I wrote twice, though. ;) ♥

Feel free to try again if you're feeling bored.

It wasn't meant to be generic, but fine. Here: Without waiting for her to acknowledge him, he sat on the floor next to her and encouraged her into his lap, apologizing quietly for startling her. They always fit well together like that, her on his lap and her head nestled in his shoulder, his arms circled around her lower back and cheek resting on the top of her head. He rubbed her back until her tears calmed, letting her stay where she was until she was ready to move. Better?

It wasn't really generic, it was just out of context I had absolutely no clue where it belonged.

I don't really have a fic request, but I this sounds fun anyway!

Also while I was browsing your index I found a new fic I don't remember reading! And a quote from it that made me laugh, "And then, remembering an overheard Sunday school conversation from a few weeks ago, he kindly reminds her that, should it ever come up, Noah’s wife is not Joan of Arc."
That's a great line!

That wasn't the one I was going to use though. The one I'm asking you to guess is, "“I’m sorry,” she whispers as you slip your arms around her waist and bury your face in her shoulder."

And I think it could be somewhat generic, so if it is then I can pick something else!

I've been re-reading Delicate because I need to start working on it again and Somersault's one of my faves. ♥
