all i can say jamie is read the books and a lot of your problems/sadness about the lack of development of some characters/etc will be taken care of. I really liked the movie and I LOVED Kristin Stewarts' Bella... it made a lot of sense the way she acted (of course, if you read the books) anyway... just wanted to throw that in there... i wasn't going to repost but I realized it would bug me all night if i didn't lol

I've read a lot of commentary, and yes, according to Bella, the character is supposed to be fugly. I liked the movie too; I plan to see it again. But I like the movie because of all the inside jokes from the snarkers, and while I don't think it's going to go down in history or anything, I thought it wasn't a bad fantasy film. I'd certainly see it over the new Star Trek flick that's coming out.

But you have to admit, there were parts that were crappy, and I'm sorry, I think those were parts taken directly from the book. Like the lion/lamb dialogue? No teenager talks like that, unless they're auditioning for something.

I've been planning to see it mostly for the lulz...because I agree re: EVERY POINT about the book. The few pages I did read of the first book felt like a bad Harry Potter fanfiction...

But if it's actually good, it might be worth it to see in theaters instead of waiting to rent (mockery is better when you can't be killed by rabid fans in hearing range)

I normally don't advise seeing a movie like this in the theater, but really, I would. It is so much fun to laugh at, and TONS of people will laugh with you.

I couldn't help being shocked at the way they changed things and I didn't understand why they replaced character personality with weird things that made no sense.

I understand they seamed together several scenes for the sake of continuity, and yeah, I hear you on character personality. But let's face it, SMeyers doesn't give her characters personality anyway, so really, what were you missing?

Actually she did for the main ones. Except for Charlie, but they gave him personality in the movie. I was glad for that, I felt bad not caring about the possibility of Bella's dad dying

Not that it counts, since I haven't seen the film myself... but I simply want to SLAP that expression off of Krinsten/Bella's face in the movie poster.

It just... bugs me. >:P
