Sensory overload. My brain has been on the verge of short circuiting for two days now.

The flash of Cumberbutt was especially delightful, and thank you for the spoiler warning ~iz relatively unspoiled~

SO EXCITED!!! And I think my parents get BBC America so I can watch the Doctor Who Christmas special, even if we don't get Sherlock right away!

No, I wouldn't spoil you guys without a warning. I was slightly annoyed when I heard that bit, because there was no spoiler warning, but it's just one piece of the puzzle.

Lucky! I'm still catching up on DW -- Mom and I are up to Donna's episodes now -- but we'll get to Eleven eventually. I have a friend from Into the Woods who talks about Eleven as much as I talk about Sherlock and John, so I really do want to get caught up!

I haven never liked The Hobbit, but with Martin Freeman as Bilbo, I'm absolutely going to watch the film. I got chills!

Thank you.

As for Sherlock ... o.o~

You're going to see it?! Fantastic! This is a delightful surprise, because I know how much Bilbo bugs you.

I'm such a sentimental schmuck that I cried when I saw the trailer, because I've loved the book since I was eight or ten, so I've been waiting years for this movie. Almost three decades for a live action, full length version of "The Hobbit."

I really am going to see it. I think Peter Jackson is the right director to make it work for me, especially considering how I feel about Bilbo as a character. Armitage is utterly delectable as Thorin, and I loved the dwarvensong in the trailer, as well as the sneak peeks of Ian McKellan and Kate Blanchett. If they do it justice in the same fashion as they managed LotR, then I shall be quite happy.

I'd say let's make it a date, but who knows how the next year will go. And I was so horribly depressed to miss our last outing. I've been on antibiotics more than I'd like this fall.

Yeah, let's not set anything in stone, but maybe a month before it comes out, I'll bring it up, and we can go from there. I already have a commitment for that weekend to see it with Boo-Girl, because it will be released on her sixteenth birthday, and she's been a fan of the book since she first read it a few years ago.

I would like another meetup sooner than "The Hobbit" ... maybe in the spring. I'll mention it again in a few months and see what everyone thinks.

I've been a squeeing maniac for days now. It's total overload and I just can't wait for the episodes to air... not to mention The Hobbit. Oh. My. God. I got chills.

I'm annoyed that we have to wait until May for PBS to broadcast it, but I shall be patient because one doesn't mention not-legal ways of downloading stuff in an unlocked post. Or buy the British DVDs in January and set my work computer to Region 2.

I had chores to do this morning, but I logged onto my computer to access a shopping list and made the mistake of going to Tumblr. I never did get to those chores ....

*goes back to being ded*

Hobbit dwarves siiiiing!!! I am so glad Peter Jackson is directing; after he did the LotR trilogy, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the pre-history.

I was a bit surprised when Del Toro was brought on to direct three or four years ago, to be honest, because I couldn't imagine anyone other than Jackson doing it. I'm not familiar with Del Toro's work, either, so I was delighted when the green light for the movie finally happened, which was only a couple months after Del Toro backed out.

The singing!!! I couldn't be more excited.

Del Toro did Pan's Labyrinth, which I though was a brilliant piece of film-making, but yeah, I can't imagine anyone but PJ doing The Hobbit or anything else set in Tolkien's universe. He makes Tolkien a lot more palatable to me. I mean, I hated the LotR book, but liked the movies very much. I liked reading The Hobbit, so have high hopes for the movie version. But nothing beats Sherlock! :-)
