I was a total n00b. I was used to being restricted on everything at work, and all of a sudden I could wear anything, go online during breaks, and even linger at a coworker's desk if there was a worthwhile conversation going on ... it was/is fantastic.
Right now it's just red flats for Red Shoe Mondays, but I have my eye on a pair of wine-colored heels and some fire-engine-red heels as well, so I'll have some variety in there soon. I need to do something for Tuesdays as well so I can improve that day (me and Tuesday do not get along), but I'm not sure what yet. Maybe flirty skirts.
I keep seeing more clothes that I want before I get the camera, so I may end up buying that a little later than I've said here ... (red shooooessss, Preciousss ....) I'm not very knowledgeable about photography, but there are a lot of things over the last couple of years I wish I'd had a camera for, so it's time for me to get one.
After all the books and movies you two recommended, it's only fair I should give SOMETHING back. Here's a link to what I bought, just 'cause I feel like showing off. Go get some red shoes!
And with regard to the books: Dorothy L. Sayers (Whose Body? was the first Peter Wimsey book, and those where she attempts to marry him off are Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, Gaudy Night, and Busman's Honeymoon)
Otherwise, I think we talked about China Meiville's Kraken ... and now I don't remember what else.
You're so right -- we need paper and pen when we get together.
Torrid is a plus-size website, and I don't know if they have regular-width shoes, but those aren't the only red flats in the world, of course.
Thank you for the Sayers book recs! I've added it to my sticky book post at the top of my journal. It turns out I had Kraken already listed there, along with something else I should read first. I'll get to it all eventually. I'm still waiting for the LBPL to acquire Marlen Haushofer's "The Wall," which 42 read last month and raved about.
Did we discuss any movies besides Van Helsing and V for Vendetta? I mean, movies worth watching?
I had a scrap of paper when we went to Buca di Beppo and Barnes & Noble, which is how I remembered 1632 and ... something else; I'd have to look it up. But yeah; I must remember to pack a notebook and an extra pen or two next time.

I do heartily approve of Red Shoe Day.
And I LOVE my digital camera! I feel like a member of this century, almost!

Very few good things happen on Mondays, but one from yesterday = the yarn has finally arrived for your socks.

Wheeee! I never had a thing for socks -- pajamas are more my thing -- but I'm really quite excited about TARDIS socks. *hugs*
