purty fic!

salr323 has finished posting Miscommunication, a Star Trek reboot/Pride and Prejudice hybrid, starring Spock and Uhura. It's PG for most of the fic and then earns a mature rating (nothing explicit) in the last chapter. It's about 42,000 words in all, divided into twelve chapters. I'm pretty sure there are links from the bottom of each part to the next ( Read more... )

GAH thank you thank you for the rec!!!

It was absolutely incredible and so believable and you are right-- P&P similarities seamlessly weaved throughout.

I just spent all morning reading it because I couldn't stop.

*happy sigh*

Kel, thanks for a wonderful rec! Just read the story through and loved every syllable of it. You're a very bad influence, my dear, as that was my first evah Trek fanfic. Gah! No time for another fandom, but I've always been intrigued by Spock.

I got down to LB last weekend, but it was a whirlwind trip. Drove down on Saturday morning, hung out at the Queen Mary in the afternoon, followed by a huge group dinner at Bubba Gump's, then drove back to SF early Sunday. So, unfortunately, no time for brekkie~ate jerky and DCoke in the car, ewwww. But it got me back to the very excellent con in decent time so all was worth it! ♥ K

Any time! If you decide you like this pairing and want to peek every once in a while, I get my fixes through spock_uhura.

Oh, Bubba Gump's! So yummy. It's just as well that you didn't have time -- I've been sick for a while, so I would have coughed all over you.

Thanks! The Spock-Uhura LJ looks yummy, but I can't imagine there are many better fics than the one you recc'ed--Miscommunication really is superbly done...that's rhetorical, btw. I don't want to hear if the writing and characterizations are all that good ;-)

I hope you're feeling better. I guess things work out in the end. I was sleep-deprived and you know how con-exhaustion can get. I probably would've absorbed and welcomed every illness microbe you unwittingly shared! LB is gorgeous, and the warmth was a welcome relief from freezing SF!

I have two other fics that I think are as good. One's complete in three chapters (I pimped it when it was my turn at fangirl_tour), and the other is a work in progress (four chapters so far). Let me know if you're interested.

I'm rather fond of LB myself, but then again, I'm biased. I grew up in a ghetto-ish part of town, but I live in a better neighborhood now, and it's nice to live so near the ocean. I never go to the beach, though, except when I'm walking. Our winters in SoCA are pretty much like the SF weather you describe, though maybe a little colder.
