The majority of my waking birthday hours were spent writing an evil paper (the older I get, the longer it takes me to write a paper, and the quality steadily declines). But dinner was de-lovely. :-)

• Butternut squash soup, with apples and curry spices, topped with butternut squash seeds roasted in soy sauce.
• Thick-cut french fries smothered in pesto.
• Red kale sautéed with olive oil, white wine and garlic.
• Chocolate bourbon pecan pie.

All quite lovely, and writing about it is making me crave pesto fries right now. I could also go for some pumpkin ravioli.

I have a break from November 18-26, and then another from December 23 to January 22. Pick your day(s)!

Say, have you seen the current #1 movie? It's got a great cast, and is directed by he who directed the Batman movie that I liked, so I feel like I should see it (though, of course, I don't have time to).

I hope that work gets less sucky for you!

Yes, Jeffty...Happy Birthday!! (I am having a problem this year keeping track of dates...and by that I mean I'm having a problem remembering what the date is...NOT that I forgot what date your birthday is!!) Subsequently, I can't manage to wish people a Happy Birthday on their actual birthday...just whenever I think it is at the time.

This might be easier to explain in person...or maybe Keker can explain it...since I did this on her birthday too.
